Arab Voices (Episode # 1,237)
During this episode of Arab Voices, we will have 3 segments:
1) Electronic Intifada Newscast - A summary of the latest developments in occupied Palestine and Lebanon, including the ongoing Israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip, the ongoing Israeli atrocities and ethnic cleansing in the occupied West Bank, and the ongoing relentless Israeli attacks on Lebanon, presented by Nora Barrows-Friedman, associate editor at the Electronic Intifada.
2) "Palestine will outlast Blair and his grotesque 'Board of Peace'" - A Middle East Eye opinion by Soumaya Ghannoushi, a writer and expert on Middle East politics, explaining that former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair’s diplomatic efforts, particularly his demand that the Palestinian Authority replace the term "Palestine" in school textbooks with the biblically derived Israeli term "Samaria," represent a “monstrous” demand for a people to participate in their own cultural and historical erasure. Ghannoushi says that by framing this demand as a condition for peace and reform, Blair is prioritizing Israeli interests rather than acting as a neutral mediator within the so-called Board of Peace. Ghannoushi emphasizes that despite these systemic and diplomatic pressures, Palestinian identity, memory, and connection to the land will persist, enduring any attempts to erase them.
3) CAIR-Chicago's 23rd Anniversary Gala Keynote Remarks by Ana Kasparian - On September 20, 2026, the Chicago Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy group, held its 23rd Anniversary Gala. The event brought together incredible speakers from across Chicago and beyond. The keynote speaker at the gala was Ana Kasparian, Executive Producer and host of The Young Turks, the largest online news network in the country.
